OVER 700 KITCHENS AND COUNTING...

Cabinets Plus designs and provides high-end, quality, custom cabinetry for homes on Long Island.  Family owned and operated for over 33 years we have supplied our clients with their dream kitchens.

We strive to make our customers ideas from paper into functional reality. With impeccable attention to detail and a close eye on individual preference we work closely with homeowners to give them the tools they need to create a space that they absolutely love being in.

TOGETHER, WE CREATE YOUR DREAM KITCHEN

Most of our clientele is referral based from local architects, builders, past clients and designers that we have built strong reputations with. Since we design kitchens from the ground up, we spend a lot of time behind the scenes, often foreseeing kitchen solutions before anyone even realizes there may be any problems.

You’re not just paying for a kitchen, you’re paying for a leading industry design expert to walk you through the process of the creating a personalized space to meet all of your needs. From cabinetry, to countertops, to appliances, to plumbing fixtures and hardware, we are with you to help make difficult and sometimes overwhelming decisions easy for you.  We aren’t just there to install a new kitchen, we are there well after you’ve moved in to ensure that you are happy and that everything is working properly.

STEP 1

THE MEETING

Call and set up an appointment in our Aquebogue Showroom so that we can get a feel for your style and needs. Bring some inspiration, photos of color options, cabinetry style, accessories anything that makes you say, “I love that.” Also, if you aren’t working off a set of plans please take a few measurements of the space.

We will ask important questions to help guide you through the initial process of picking out appliances, so we may put you in contact with the industry’s leading appliance company to schedule a fun (yes I said fun… trust me) appointment.  After your meeting we will prepare a proposal estimate for you based on your style and needs.

STEP 2

DESIGN RETAINER

After you have reviewed and accepted your tailored proposal, a standard agreement with a deposit, which serves as a design retainer (10%) of the estimate is paid. This allows us to now allocate time to measure the space so we may begin drawing floor plans and elevations.

One might ask, why a design retainer?  Other similar firms do not use one.  The answer is quite simple.  Cabinets Plus instituted this soon after its inception, when it became clear that we were not spending enough time with the clients that showed confidence in us, by deciding to do business with us.  There were just not enough hours in the day to meet with clients, design the space, write and price the project.  The retainer was a solution to the time issues.

It was designed as a two-step retainer with variation so that it would be fair to all.  The difference between our retainer is that the full amount of the retainer is credited back to the project when the sales agreement is signed.  The design retainer was designed as an instrument of commitment rather than a source of revenue.

Copies of designer retainer are available upon request.

From here on out we are with you, to take out the guess work and equip you with the tools to make the best decisions for your space.   This was created many years ago to allow us to spend the much needed time to develop ideas for your kitchen.  This actually saves you a lot of time as well.

LOU NARDOLILLO Sr.

Certified KitchenDesigner; CKD, President, Senior Director of Logistics

Lou’s love of kitchen and cabinetry began when he was a young (about 100 years ago). He would follow his dad to work at his manufacturing facility to spend time with him.

Upon graduating college Lou started teaching Industrial Arts at Riverhead High School and after 14 years of teaching, he decided he wanted to fulfill his lifelong dream of being in the same kind of business as his father. In 1986 sensing it was time for that change… Lou had decided to blend his teaching skills with his love of kitchen design and opened Cabinets Plus.

Since its inception Lou has been very successful in keeping his promise and commitment to his customers since day one. Customer satisfaction has been fundamental to his success. His business mission is, “to perform our service in a timely and professional manner to ensure a customer, or customer referral for life.”  He strives to make each project, not only functional and beautiful, but an enjoyable experience as well.

Lou is a member of the National Kitchen and Bath Association and is an avid supporter of the “Make-a-Wish” Foundation of Suffolk County. These days Lou is passing his baton to his son, Lou Jr. so that he can spend time with and enjoy his grandchildren, as he always says, “you’ll never get this time back.”

Lou lives locally with his wife, Wanda a retired art teacher and enjoys every moment with his 4 grandchildren.

LOU NARDOLILLO JR.

Head of Design and Project Management

Lou Jr, joined the firm in 2005 with a wealth of experience in project management. After he finished his degree from SUNY Plattsburg he pursued his career for a local environmental firm where he was responsible for managing several environmental and groundwater remediation projects in the Tri-State area.  Louie yearned for more though, he remembered the days in his dad’s showroom, where people were always happy to see him. He says, “Dad, everyone is always so happy to see you, no one is ever happy to see me.” That’s when he knew his future was at Cabinets Plus, where he could continue the proud tradition of his family’s business.

Lou Jr. is currently pursuing accreditation from the NKBA as an Associate Kitchen and Bath Designer (AKBA). This is the first step toward his goal of becoming a CKD. Lou lives locally with his wife, Erin who is a local high school math teacher and his 2 children.

“Five years ago, we renovated our new home in Peconic.   We worked with our contractor and with Cabinets Plus to create a comfortable, welcoming and efficient space. Lou and Lou, jr. brought their expertise and experience in guiding us to design new cabinets and a central island in our kitchen and a vanity with double sinks in our master bathroom to meet our needs and our taste.  We have been delighted with the outcome and have admired their impeccable advice, their timeliness in the production and installation of the new pieces and their ongoing support as needed.  Last year we did a total renovation of the kitchen in our Manhattan apartment and once again called on Cabinets Plus to work with our New York contractor.   They provided the same quality expertise, advice and design instincts.  The renovation was completed on schedule and once again we are very pleased with the outcome and their timely support in fine tuning the new cabinets as we began to cook in the kitchen.  We can recommend Cabinets Plus enthusiastically and without reservation to our friends and relatives who are planning new construction projects in their homes.”

Kitchens.  The heart of our homes.  Therefore crucial to have the best people to give their

attention to this space.  I chose Cabinets Plus as they came very highly recommended indeed.

On our first meeting, I launched into some different ideas with more unusual materials, like

a glass worktop that I imagined would enhance the space, given that it is visible from every point of my main living area.  Lou immediately saw where I was trying to go with my notions and harnessed  the scheme into something not only beautiful but extraordinarily practical.

Clearly their experience and knowledge is hard to beat and from our agreement to the end install, they handled everything with quiet efficiency and I was able just to leave it all to them.

The result was absolutely everything I wanted.  It looks gorgeous, it functions perfectly, and I am absolutely delighted with end result.  Importantly the cost was exactly on the nose of their quote.   The whole process was pain free and delightful.

I have no hesitation at all recommending them to everyone I come in contact with!!!

The results speak for themselves.”

“We recently underwent a major renovation of our house in Cutchogue, which included a completely new location and layout for our kitchen. Our architect did an initial rendering of the kitchen, however, that only provided us the basic layout and the finished details required the input and assistance of a cabinet company.

Thankfully we chose Cabinets Plus. Lou Sr. and Jr. were invaluable in providing insight as to final layout, overall design and choice of cabinets and appliances. As much as we went into this thinking that we knew everything we wanted, they were the ones that made it work and added insight well beyond the choice of cabinet to include proper placement, lighting, etc.

They worked seamlessly with our architect and general contractor throughout the design and installation process and they were there every step of the way. If something didn’t look right to them it was fixed before we ever even noticed it; and everything was done on time and on budget.

To say we are thrilled with the outcome is an understatement. They were a true pleasure to work with every step of the way and their knowledge and professionalism was evident from day one. We have since recommended them to friends who have likewise come away with similar results and feelings.

We wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone interested in a new kitchen.

“Recently we built a home on the bay in Cutchogue. This was our first experience with building from scratch. We retained Cabinets Plus to design, produce and install our upstairs and basement kitchens, a living room dry bar and to provide and install the cabinetry and
countertops for our bathrooms.
We had an unusual project in that we live out of state for most of the year, so we had to rely on
our kitchen and bath design firm to operate without us reviewing each step of the process. It
takes a special firm to make you feel comfortable that they will execute the installation and
stand behind their work and that of their subs while you are far away. We can honestly say
that Lou Sr. and Lou Jr. did an outstanding job on all fronts.
We found their knowledge and suggestions during the design phase to be invaluable. They
came up with a novel way to take care of the dishes and other typical dining room items
without have to find space for a buffet in an open floor plan. Their installation was impeccable and they took care of any minor issues promptly after we came back in town months later to take possession.
To this day we know we can rely on Lou Sr. and Lou Jr. should any cabinetry need repair, or if we just need advice. Their appliance supplier was a pleasure to work with as well and they too have been wonderfully responsive as time passes and items like filters need to be replaced while the DIY owners manual looks daunting.
Cabinets Plus gave us our dream kitchens and baths and we are thrilled with the results. We
have no reservations in recommending them to everyone considering a kitchen or bath.”
